Amp Crash
Report incorrect information
Amp Crash combines a 3-watt amplifier, internal 2" speaker and microphone inside a pedal, physically generating the interaction of a small cranked amp rather than simulating it electronically. The speaker moves air inside the enclosure and the microphone captures it, producing natural compression, harmonics, feedback and unpredictable textures. The direct amplifier signal can be blended with the mic’d speaker sound, covering touch-sensitive overdrive through heavy fuzz and controlled feedback. Developed from an idea by David of Rainger FX, the concept evolved from placing a microphone inside a pedal to incorporating its own amp and speaker. Reverb, Echo and Chorus effects further expand the sound. Amp Crash can function as an effect, experimental sound source, compact recording tool or portable practice amp.
