Report incorrect information
The British Pedal Company Compact Series PEP BOX is a germanium fuzz pedal based on the original WEM PEP BOX, designed by Pepe Rush around 1965. It faithfully recreates the original two-transistor circuit using a pair of ACY41 germanium transistors, known for their bright, raspy and aggressive fuzz character. The pedal features two controls: Effect adjusts fuzz intensity, while Level sets the output volume. Its compact enclosure replaces the larger original housing while retaining the distinctive Hammerite finish and vintage circuit design. The original WEM PEP BOX is notably associated with John Lennon, who used it at Abbey Road Studios during The Beatles' Revolver recording sessions.
