BPC Blackface

The British Pedal Company Blackface Overdrive is an overdrive pedal inspired by the 1980s and 1990s Dumble-style amplifier sound. Its circuit uses a carefully selected operational amplifier to produce harmonically rich, mid-focused overdrive with dynamic response and a characteristic blooming sustain, where notes appear to swell as they decay. The pedal delivers low to medium gain in its standard mode, with a Dynamic control that adjusts gain, attack and touch sensitivity. Additional controls include Gain for overdrive intensity, Tone for frequency shaping and Volume for output level. A Boost switch adds further gain and fullness to the sound. The pedal features an LED status indicator and operates from a 9V battery or an external 9–18V power supply, with higher voltages providing increased headroom.
