Tone Bender Professional MKII OC81D
Report incorrect information
The British Pedal Company Professional MKII Tone Bender OC81D is a germanium fuzz pedal designed as a faithful recreation of the original 1966 Professional MK II Tone Bender developed by Gary Hurst. Unlike the earlier MKI.5, the MKII features a three-transistor circuit, with this version using three OC81D germanium transistors instead of the alternative OC75 configuration. The OC81D version delivers a warmer, smoother fuzz with greater saturation and sustain compared with its OC75 counterpart. Two controls provide sound adjustment: Level sets the output volume, while Attack determines the intensity of the fuzz. Part of the Vintage Series, the pedal features a cast aluminum enclosure and is produced in limited quantities. The original OC81D-equipped MKII is closely associated with Jimmy Page's guitar sound on Led Zeppelin recordings, particularly "Whole Lotta Love."
