Amaterasu

The Ground Control Audio Amaterasu is an op-amp-based clean boost and bright preamp pedal featuring up to 26 dB of full-range gain and an optional 12 dB treble boost. Its main gain stage maintains a mostly flat frequency response, while the additional treble stage emphasizes frequencies between approximately 3.2 kHz and 15 kHz. A two-position Treble switch activates or bypasses this high-frequency boost, allowing either full-range signal amplification or a brighter, more focused response. The circuit incorporates a discrete JFET input buffer to preserve signal integrity and provides nearly 18V of internal amplification headroom. Introduced in 2017, the pedal features mechanical true bypass and operates from a 9V DC center-negative supply, drawing approximately 5 mA.
