The Dirty Haggard Audio Gnarled is a distortion pedal that uses an op-amp-based hard-clipping circuit with a boosted clean blend to preserve low-frequency definition and maintain clarity when stacking gain stages. Its Gain control ranges from mild overdrive to high-gain distortion, while the High Filter allows high frequencies to be boosted or attenuated. The circuit retains low-end content, making it suitable for bass guitars, including five-string instruments, and down-tuned guitars. On bass, it adds attack and definition while preserving the fundamental frequencies; on guitar, it emphasizes upper-midrange aggression. Gentle noise suppression is applied specifically to the distortion circuit to reduce unwanted noise. The pedal can also function as a full-frequency clean boost.
