Germanium Fuzz Gold

The Benson Germanium Fuzz is a modern take on the classic two-transistor germanium fuzz circuit, using matched 2N527 or 2N404 germanium transistors. It features an automatic thermal-bias system that regulates transistor temperature to maintain consistent performance across changing environments. A built-in buffer and pickup simulator improve compatibility with other pedals while preserving the cleanup characteristics associated with vintage germanium fuzzes. An Impedance control simulates rolling back the guitar volume, allowing access to cleaner and brighter tones without adjusting the instrument. The pedal covers a wide gain range, from clean boost and overdrive to rich fuzz with octave-like overtones. It is voiced for classic '60s and '70s rock and psychedelic tones rather than heavily gated or experimental fuzz sounds.
