Hungry Robot Pedals
El Castillo
Report incorrect information
The El Castillo is an ambient reverb pedal that combines reverb, pitch shifting, and delay to create evolving pitch-shifted reverb textures. The pitch shifter and delay are placed inside the reverb's feedback loop, causing each repeat to change pitch over time and producing arpeggiating effects.
The Level control adjusts the wet signal, Regen sets the reverb feedback and decay, and Stretch controls the delay time (0–800 ms), determining how quickly the pitch changes occur.
Two operating modes are available. Un-Quantized mode provides continuous pitch shifting from -1 to +1 octave. Quantized mode blends fixed octave-down and octave-up intervals, allowing anything from octave-down repeats to traditional shimmer effects or a mix of both.
