Hungry Robot Pedals
The Monastery
Report incorrect information
The Hungry Robot Monastery is a polyphonic octave generator capable of producing octave-up and octave-down effects simultaneously while maintaining low latency and accurate tracking across the fretboard, including chords and multiple notes. Its sound is inspired by the layered character of vintage organs, with a subtle Leslie-style modulation.
Instead of separate dry, octave-up, and octave-down level controls, the Monastery uses a crossfade system. The Dry/Wet controls adjust the balance between the original and processed signals, while the +/- controls blend the octave-up and octave-down voices. This design keeps the overall output close to unity gain throughout the control range.
The pedal features two independent presets, each with its own set of controls. The right footswitch switches instantly between the two presets, with an LED indicating whether the upper or lower control set is currently active.
