Corpse Forge
Report incorrect information
The Smirmoor Corpse Forge is a high-gain distortion pedal designed by Joss Allen, featuring six gain stages built around TL072 operational amplifiers. Its circuit combines cascaded and parallel gain stages with separate low- and high-frequency processing paths. Sixteen 1N914 diodes provide a combination of symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping, incorporating both hard- and soft-clipping configurations. This architecture produces heavily saturated distortion while maintaining low-frequency response and note definition. The pedal is designed to work particularly well with high-gain amplifiers, providing additional saturation and tonal shaping. Despite its complex internal signal architecture, the Corpse Forge is intended for straightforward operation. It features true bypass switching and operates from a standard 9V DC center-negative power supply.
