OD-1 Over Drive

Report incorrect information
The Boss OD-1 OverDrive was Boss's first overdrive pedal and established the foundation for many overdrive designs that followed. It delivers a natural, amp-like overdrive that preserves the guitar's tonal character and responds well to picking dynamics. The simple Over Drive and Level controls adjust the amount of gain and output level, making the pedal suitable for adding subtle breakup, pushing an amplifier into overdrive, or producing smooth, sustained lead tones. The OD-1 uses a FET electronic switching system for quiet operation and can be powered by a 9V battery or a Boss ACA-series AC adapter. Introduced in 1977, it became one of the most influential overdrive pedals ever produced and served as the predecessor to later Boss models such as the OD-2 and OD-3.
