OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion

The Boss OS-2 OverDrive/Distortion is a hybrid overdrive and distortion pedal that combines two independent analog circuits in a single compact enclosure. Its overdrive section is based on the classic Boss OD-1, using asymmetrical clipping to produce smooth, mid-focused, tube amp-like overdrive, while the distortion section employs hard clipping for a tighter, more aggressive sound. The unique Color control blends the overdrive and distortion circuits in parallel, allowing seamless transitions between pure overdrive, pure distortion, or a mix of both for tones that are smoother and more articulate than simply stacking two pedals in series. Level, Tone, and Drive controls provide further shaping, making the OS-2 a versatile pedal capable of covering everything from blues and classic rock to grunge and heavier distortion tones.
